Diagnostics & Inspections

Know what your car is telling you.

A warning light is information, not a diagnosis. We come to you across Johannesburg and Pretoria, read what your car has actually logged, and explain it in language you can use.

Not a guess. Not a quote for a part nobody has tested. A diagnosis.

Mobile Diagnostic Scan — R450

Standard rate R750. R450 is a launch rate while we are getting started.

We meet you at home or at work, plug into your car's OBD port, and scan every system it has — not just the engine light. ABS, airbags, transmission, body modules, whatever the car has recorded.

What you get

  • Full-system fault code scan at your address
  • Live data on the sensors relevant to what the car is doing
  • A written report in plain language
  • An honest view of what is urgent and what can wait
  • Codes cleared where appropriate, so you can see what comes back

Pre-Purchase Inspection — R850

Standard rate R1,400. R850 is a launch rate.

You are about to spend R80,000 on a stranger's car. Spend R850 first.

We meet you at the car, wherever it is, and go through it properly before money changes hands. The seller does not have to drive anywhere — which removes the most common reason these inspections never happen.

What we check

  • Full-system fault scan, including faults that have been recently cleared
  • Engine and transmission condition, cold start, how it drives
  • Brakes, suspension and steering
  • Electrics, lights and every warning lamp
  • Body, panel gaps and signs of accident repair
  • Interior, service history and mileage plausibility
  • A road test

You get a written report you can use — either to walk away, or to negotiate with something concrete in your hand. "It needs R14,000 of work" is a far stronger position than "I feel unsure about it".

How it works

  1. Tell us the basics. Make, model, year, and what the car is actually doing.
  2. We come to you. Anywhere in Johannesburg or Pretoria, at a time that suits you.
  3. You get it in writing. What the car reported, what it means, and how urgent it is.

What we will not do

We will not name a broken part from a fault code alone.

A code like P0171 tells you the engine is running lean. That could be a split intake pipe, a tired mass airflow sensor, a leaking gasket, or a fuel delivery problem. Four very different repairs, one code.

What a scan does is narrow it from "something is wrong somewhere" to "the fault is in this system" — so that whatever you approve next is work you actually need. Anyone who quotes you for a specific part off a code alone is guessing with your money.

If a car should not be driven, we will say so plainly, even when that is not what you were hoping to hear.

Coverage

Johannesburg and Pretoria, and the corridor between them. Outside that by arrangement — just ask.

Most vehicles from 2005 onward. Strongest on VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda, plus Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

We are not open yet

We are still setting things up properly — bookings, payments, all of it. We would rather tell you that than take your money before we are ready.

But if you have a light on right now, message us anyway. We will tell you what it means, free, whether or not we ever scan your car. That part does not need us to be open.

We will say so the day we open.
